The Shanduka role

Shanduka Group - A pillar of strength

The Adopt-a-School Foundation has benefited enormously from the support of a number of sponsors. One of these, the Shanduka Group, has been the main strategic sponsor of the Foundation's work, providing infrastructural, logistical and inspirational support.

In 2004, Cyril Ramaphosa, Chairman of the Adopt-a-School Foundation launched the Shanduka Foundation with a commitment to a vigorous Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme. The Adopt-a-School Foundation has become an integral part of Shanduka's CSI programme, and stands to benefit from both the CSI commitment and a 5% shareholding in the Shanduka Group, attributed to the Shanduka Foundation.

The Shanduka Group and its staff have also adopted Olifantsvlei Primary School in Eikenhof, Gauteng. All staff members at Shanduka donate monthly contributions for the funding of projects at this school, and also volunteer for manual work at the school once a year. The Shanduka Group matches the staff contributions to Olifantsvlei rand- for-rand.
